The gift of life is priceless and that's why Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital hosted a blood drive Thursday. Officials say it's part of an ongoing effort to encourage all who qualify to give blood. They add that donations are usually down during the summer which is when they are needed the most. Diane Swafford with the hospital says, "sometimes we have restrictions on our access to products and when a patients needs blood, they need it right now they don't need it three days after their families have been called to donate." All who donated blood were registered to win two tickets to Wild Adventures.
