A Fitzgerald juvenile is back in custody after leading police on a man hunt.
On Tuesday, Fitzgerald officials were transporting a 16-year-old black male to the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center.
The transporting officer made a stop at a Rite-Aid around 2:30 p.m. to purchase bandages for the teen's stomach wound.
Once the officer got inside the store, the teen exited the car.
The Turner County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit and the Ashburn Police Department assisted the Fitzgerald Police Department in a search for the teen.
Major James Reynolds said the teen was picked up several hours later not far from where he left police custody.
The 16-year-old has now been transported to Macon.
