Teachers train to make lessons relatable for students using memes, viral videos
Teachers are getting more prepared to teach kids next school year.
Teachers across South Georgia attended the award-winning STEM training called Ignite My Future in Cordele.
They learned how to use memes, make viral videos, and more for kids to be able to relate to the content.
The program is meant to help teachers be more hands-on with the curriculum.
"Things we learn in the classrooms are all useful, but if we can't make the link or make students see why it's purposeful or applicable to their daily life, they don't see the value in it,” Science Specialist Jenna Rhodes said. “It's our job to make it relevant so it can have value."
Teachers came from Crisp, Lowndes, Tift, Sumter and other counties for the event.
