On Wednesday, the Albany Gang Task Force held a forum on Albany State University campus educating faculty and staff on the signs to look for when spotting gangs.
Officials with the Gang Task Force say some common crimes associated with gangs are drugs, alcohol, sex crimes and often murder.
They say the biggest thing they want people at ASU to know is that gangs are everywhere.
Lieutenant Anita Allen with the Albany State University Police Department says, "the purpose of the forum is so they can be aware of the type of clothing, graffiti, tattoos, and type of body language to look for on the campus, in the case that gangs are present here."
She adds that if you think there is activity in your area to contact the Albany Police Gang Task Force.
