      SWAT team assists in Nottingham apartment search

      Officers say that a search warrant was obtained for 2401 Nottingham Way, Apartment 125 and was executed at approximately 9:00 p.m. Monday night with the assistance of the Albany-Dougherty SWAT Team. A search of the apartment resulted in locating several weapons. / File


      The Albany Police Department has released more details on the search that occurred Monday night at the Nottingham apartments.

      Officials say that Detective Timothy Harvey with the Theft Unit received information in regards to weapons violations at the Nottingham North Apartments. A further investigation was conducted using the tip information. As a result, Detective Harvey was able to gather information about the whereabouts of the weapons.

      Officers say that a search warrant was obtained for 2401 Nottingham Way, Apartment 125 and was executed at approximately 9:00 p.m. Monday night with the assistance of the Albany-Dougherty SWAT Team. A search of the apartment resulted in locating several weapons, which included several rifles and handguns.

      A male and female was in the residence at the time of the raid. Several people have been questioned but no arrests have been made.

      Investigators say the case is still under investigation.
