Swallowing stash doesn't work for distributor

On Tuesday, July 23, 2013 investigators from the Special Operations Division of the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office arrested Tamela Jones and Robert Boone after they agreed to meet a person who they thought was going to purchase cocaine from them.

The person posing was actually an investigator from the Sheriff's Office.

When the couple arrived, they were confronted by investigators and Jones attempted to swallow a quantity of cocaine but was subdued by investigators and the narcotic, weighing approximately 0.3 grams was recovered.

40-years-old, Jones is charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute and obstruction of an officer. 43-years-old, Boone is charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, obstruction of an officer and use of a communication device for facilitating drug transactions.

Jones and Boone were both arrested and transported to the Lowndes County Jail.

They will appear in court Wednesday afternoon for an arraignment hearing where bond is considered.
