      Suspect sought in wallet thefts across Southwest Georgia

      Tift County Sheriff's deputies need your help after a wallet theft occurred Sunday.

      Officials say that a wallet was reported stolen from Love's County Store on Sunday and another from Moultrie Technical College on Monday by a suspect who may be connected with a host of similar thefts throughout Georgia.

      Investigators add that one of the local victims has identified the suspect from a similar case in Athens-Clarke County as 54-year-old Antonio Hornsby.

      Hornsby is described as a heavy set black male standing 5' 11" and weighing approximately 260 pounds. Officials add that Hornsby is also a suspect in several thefts in Cordele, Valdosta, Winder, Duluth, Braselton, Acworth, Cartersville, Henry County and a theft this week in Tifton as well.

      Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough asks that anyone with information about this suspect contact the Tift County Sheriff's Office at 229-388-6020.
