A Cordele man was arrested for burglarizing a church after he accidentally dropped his parole papers -- given to him after being released from jail just days earlier â" in the parking lot.
Officials with the Crisp County Sheriff's Office say Nathaniel Bass was pictured on surveillance video going into the building and leaving with a bag of stolen items, but they couldn't identify him until they saw the papers.
After interviewing Bass, police say he admitted to the not only that crime but one that happened in Cordele's city limits the day after. He faces burglary charges and a possible parole violation and is being held in the Crisp County Jail.
