Time is ticking for the Dougherty County School Board who has the task of finding a permanent superintendent for next school year, and board members listened to a presentation on Monday about the hiring process.
The Georgia School Board Association came to the meeting to explain how they offer services to help with the hiring process, which officials believe will help them make the best decision.
"They know how to do this, number one and they have contacts all over the country and they have a way to advertise all over the country and it just saves you a lot of time and space. You're dealing with people who know what they're doing," said Interim Superintendent Dr. David Mosely.
Though school board members didn't make a decision, they did approve the hiring of other staff positions including a part-time transportation disciplinarian who will oversee school bus issues.
