During the summer months the health department wants residents to be especially aware of mosquito's and the diseases they carry.
But are there other summer diseases you need to be worried about?
FOX 31 spoke to the Southwest Public Health District who said they mainly just focus on mosquito's but they can carry other diseases too like Triple E, also known as encephalitis.
They said the best way to protect yourself is to wear bug repellent and don't go outside during dusk or dawn.
