Fighting breast cancer was the main topic in Mitchell County on Saturday, as folks gathered for the 2nd annual, "Pain Mitchell Pink," event.

With several bands scheduled to play including, "Broke Downtown, Boyd Causey, Luke Martin, and Georgia 3," a crowd gathered to listen to some great music and support a better cause

Breast cancer survivor, Shawn Harrell, spoke afterwards about the importance of standing by those that are working through this disease as we speak.

"It's just a passion we all have. Just as soon as you're diagnosed you start meeting other survivors who take you in, and they want to give you their knowledge, to kind of help you through each step so you too can become a survivor," said Harrell.

Event organizers say the event was a huge success once again, and they hope to keep it going year-after-year.
