Initial Story (1/3/12)
The Albany Police Department is working with Mann's Storage located on 21st Avenue in Northwest Albany to figure out who vandalized more than a dozen units.
APD were on the scene Tuesday afternoon while a gate company was repairing a fence and beefing up the security. Locks on fifteen storage units were cut and eight of those units were ransacked and burglarized. At this time it's not known exactly what items were taken from the storage units, however police are working with the company and the storage renters to figure that out.
Detectives think the incident may have happened a month ago and believe the suspects gained entry to the facility after cutting through a side fence.
If you have any information on this crime you're asked to call the Albany Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 229-436-TIPS(8477).
Officials also advise that anyone with a storage unit check on it frequently to make sure your property is secured.
