Staying safe in stormy weather
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is forecasting an active storm season this year. Many communities are considering increasing their capacity to provide storm shelters for residents.
You many not think a tornado will hit your house, but tornadoes touchdown in all parts of the country.
One local company, Survive-A-Storm manufactures a full line of FEMA complaint above ground and underground tornado shelters.
Lucas Stewart, the CEO of Survive-A-Storm, says that "the shelters go through rigorous debris impact testing at the Wind Science and Engineering Research Center at Texas Tech University."
There are different models, two groups of residential unity and also models big enough for municipalities.
