The Albany Police Department is making sure everyone has a fun, but safe, July 4th holiday.
Officers are out at the fairgrounds on foot, on bikes and on four-wheelers.
There is heightened enforcement through neighborhoods and the rest of the city.
Zero-tolerance for drinking and driving is in effect and curfew laws will be enforced.
"It is a weeknight, I know it is a holiday but it also is a weekend night and the curfew laws will be enforced. Children need to be in by 11 unless they are accompanied by a parent," said Phyllis Banks, media manager for the Albany Police Department.
Albany Police want to remind everyone to keep crime prevention in mind: lock your car doors, keep valuables out of sight and be aware of your surroundings.
