Gerald Greene, the state representative for district 151, paid a visit to the Dougherty County Rotary Club Tuesday afternoon.
Greene was there to give an update on the most recent legislative session. He spoke about things like the ethics bill, the budget, and the local economy.
FOX 31 asked Greene what he thinks about our economy's current state and whether he thinks it's improving or not. Greene said one thing they are pleased to see at the state level is that the unemployment rate has dropped; he believes this is a sign that the economy is improving.
He also said something he is actively working on to improve jobs in the area is convincing those large industries to move to South Georgia; Greene is emphasizing to these industries that they can do just as good here as they can in the northern part of the state.
