An arson investigation has begun in Albany after some burglars tried to cover up their crime.
Fire officials responded to Sports Awards on North Slappey Boulevard shortly after 6 a.m. on Monday and discovered several items missing once they put out one fire and realized two others were started but died out on their own.
Currently there are no suspects and the business didn't have video cameras, but officials say they may have a lead.
"The really good news is that there were other businesses that had surveillance in the area and we're following up with those businesses," said Albany Fire Department Arson Investigator Sam Harris.
Officials hope the video will show who broke into the store and set the fires that caused $20,000 worth of damage so they can ask the public to help identify them.
Albany fire crews are investigating an early morning fire at Sports Awards located at 614 North Slappey Boulevard.
About 4:30 Monday morning, officers on patrol noticed the store on fire and notified the fire department.
The Albany Fire Department responded and put out the flames.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
