      Southwest Georgia traveling minister sentenced

The verdict is in for a Southwest Georgia traveling minister: Guilty on all counts.

The Dougherty County District Attorney's office says 28-year-old Justice McClendon was sentenced today to serve 35 years on child cruelty charges.

The first 20 years of that sentence will be in prison.

The charges stem from a case started in 2009 where McClendon and the mother of a two year old boy were accused of scalding the child in a bathtub.

Prior to his arrest, McClendon preached as a traveling minister in South Georgia area churches.
