Southern Soul Music Festival takes over Exchange Club this weekend
A local organization is working to bring more soul and fun to Albany with a Southern Soul Music Festival.
Youngbuck$ Entertainment is hosting a weekend full of events for the community to enjoy at the Exchange Club Fairgrounds.
The weekend kicks off on Friday with a throwback Comedy Jam that features five different entertainers.
On Saturday, there will be a concert with multiple artists performing and good southern food. Organizers expect to bring in a crowd of hundreds.
"A lot of people say there isn't a lot of stuff to do in Albany," Rashaunda Muldrow, production manager, said. "Youngbuck$ Entertainment wanted to bring these type of events to the Albany community so we can have activities for our families to let everyone get to together and have a good time."
The Comedy Jam is $25 at the door, and it starts at 8 p.m.
The concert is $40 for general admission at the door, and it starts at 4 p.m.
Organizers encourage people to bring lawn chairs, tents and soft coolers.
