Rain, rain go away; come again another day? Not this week.
Make sure to keep your umbrellas handy as you head out the door around Southwest Georgia this week.
Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected Sunday night into Monday making it tough to get out of bed and out the door to work and/or school in the morning. Some storms through the overnight may be severe and cause heavy winds and hail.
This unsettled pattern, associated with a fading surface front, keeps rain chances in place through the middle of the week. A rumble of thunder or two are possible each afternoon and early evening as thunderstorms pass through the area. Daytime temperatures will stay seasonable.
Mid-week, another short-wave trough moves into Southwest Georgia. We will welcome May with more chances for showers and storms that stick around through the end of the week. Temperatures will remain seasonable, staying in the lower 80s.
Southwest Georgia should start to see more sunshine and begin drying out on Saturday afternoon. The sun is expected to stick around for Sunday to finish off the weekend. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s.
