A memorial for fallen Marine, Lance Corporal Steve Sutton, is in the works.

A Benefit shoot was held this morning at the Flint Skeet and Trap Club to raise money for Lance Corporal Steve Suttons Memorial.

"It's a Skeet shoot to raise money for the bronze battlefield cross that their putting at the high school football stadium for Steve", said Sutton's wife Toni Sutton.

Lance Corporal Sutton, a Marine from Leesburg, was killed while on duty in Afghanistan.

The memorial will cost around $9,000; all extra money raised will be given to a project for Wounded Soldiers.

Having a benefit that involved skeet shooting was a fitting way to raise money for Lance Corporal Suttons Memorial.

"This is something he loved to do, come out here with his dad and shoot. He loved anything with hunting, fishing, anything with guns really", says Toni Sutton

According to family and friends this memorial is something that would mean a lot to LCpl Sutton

"He deserved something like that, especially how much he loved high school football. He talked about high school all the time, how much fun he had, so I think that'd be good, he would like that", said fellow Marine and good friend LCpl Douglas Sims.
