Shots ring out on West Lincoln Avenue

SECOND UPDATE (8/28/13 9:45 AM):

According to the Albany Police Department, officers responded to 1308 W. Waddell Avenue in reference to a shooting that occured in the 1000 block of W. Lincoln Avenue.

The victim, 59-year-old Janice Brown, said she was walking in the 1000 block of W. Lincoln Avenue when a black male shot her in the back with an unknown type of firearm.

Brown describes the suspect as a dark-skinned, tall, average-sized build, black male with a low hair cut. The suspect is believed to be wearing a blue shirt with white shorts.

UPDATE (8/28/13 6:00 AM):

Albany Police confirm that the victim was walking int he 1000-block of Lincoln Avenue and was shot in the shoulder.

After inspection, EMS confirm that she was injured but it does not appear to be a gunshot wound.


Albany Police are reporting that a shooting on West Lincoln Avenue has injured a 60-year-old woman.

The shooting reportedly happened in the early evening Tuesday night, and authorities say the victim did sustain a gunshot wound in the incident.

Police are now searching for a black male wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and a low hair cut.
