Sherwood Baptist Church held their groundbreaking ceremony for a new expansion project Sunday evening.
This project is the biggest the church has seen in their 60 years of being in Albany.
The new 100,000 square foot facility will cost them about $17 million and it will be used for youth programs and to meet the needs of their growing population.
Tom Sanders who is on the vision planning team at the church says this project will be worth every penny in the end because of the impact it will have on the community. Sanders says this will help create a future generation of godly young people.
