Sherrod reacts to Supreme Court ruling
Long-time Civil Rights leader, Charles Sherrod spent the day reacting to the decision of the United States Supreme Court regarding the Voting Rights Act.
Sherrod was a key member and organizer of the, "Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee," during the 1960's and says he's unhappy with the high court's ruling.
"Today is a very disappointing day because now we cannot go to the Justice Department to stop voting discrimination issues....this is indeed a bad day for us," said Sherrod.
Sherrod adds that discrimination remains alive and well, and with legislation like this, it will be allowed to continue.
