A few weeks ago FOX 31 learned the Crisp County Sheriff, Donnie Haralson was placed on hospice following a 10-year battle with renal cell carcinoma.
He was placed on hospice so that someone would be there to help administer his medication and help his wife with the day to day care.
Haralson spoke out to FOX 31 today and said he is just humbled by all of the support he's gotten from the community. The Crisp County Chamber of Commerce began selling green ribbons to residents of the community to show the sheriff and his family just how many people are behind him during this hard time.
Haralson said he wants to leave behind a message to people that no matter what they should never give up, they should keep on fighting.
