Two sheriff's offices are coming together for the power of education.

At the fourth annual Flint River Poker Float & Raft Race in Newton, the Baker and Mitchell County Sheriff's Offices came together to raise money for local kids to have all the essentials they need for school.

Mitchell County Sheriff W.E. Bozeman says events like this go a long way.

Bozeman adds, "we got several children that we're looking after through the sheriff's association and we educating them, we have some in college school clothes and this time of year it really helps out with that."

Over the past four years they've raised over $80,000 dollars.
