Scooterville fire department without fire truck
At Thursday's Worth County Commission meeting one topic of discussion was where various Worth County fire equipment in the county was.
Several months ago Worth County Commissioners approved moving a fire engine from the Isabella Fire Department to the Sumner Fire Department. That engine, however, was bought under a grant and commissioners were unsure whether or not they could move it, so it went back to Isabella. A fire engine from Scooterville was somehow moved to Sumner instead but board chairman Mike Cosby says this was not approved by the board.
As of right now the Scooterville Fire Department is without a fire engine. Mike Cosby told FOX 31 Scooterville is still covered and their county firefighters have excellent response times. He doesn't feel residents of the town should be worried.
