On Wednesday afternoon the Dougherty County Tribunal Board upheld a sentence to send a student to the alternative school for a semester and say they're now looking at streamlining the policy for when a student has a hearing to make sure it's consistent system-wide.

"We've been trying to work with the principals and assistant principals to make sure that they presented the case properly, the witnesses are explicit with what they want to say and the decision is commensurate with the facts that they hear."

Board members say once the policy is put in place, they'll distribute a manual for each school in the hopes that it will help principals make a clearer record when presenting these cases.
