Changes coming for school health program
Some changes are on the way for the Network of Trust School Health Program.
The Network of Trust School Health Program provides school nurses, sexual education and more to Dougherty County schools.
At Wednesday's Phoebe Board of Directors meeting, Angie Barber, the director of the program, presented.
She shared some of the goals of the program with the board.
This upcoming school year, Barber says they'll expand their asthma friendly and CPR programs.
Another goal is to have more nurses in the school than ever.
Angie Barber says,"The importance of having a school nurse to us is like breathing. You want a school nurse to be there if your child has asthma. You want a school nurse to be there if your child is sad and depressed."
She adds schools nurses are there for every one that goes into a school every day, including parents and teachers.
