A bus driver and bus monitor are on leave from the Colquitt County School System after they dropped a child off at the wrong house.
School officials say Friday when the school bus came to the bus stop the 5-year-old child got up and started walking to the front.
They say that's when the bus monitor walked her across the street and dropped her off.
Colquitt County Schools System Superintendent Mickey Key said, "the child that normally gets off that bus stop was picked up by her parent earlier in the day, so the bus driver didn't know that. The bus driver makes a stop like he normally does. The monitor took the child's hand that she thought lived at that house, but she took the wrong child."
The child was later picked up and taken back to the school, unharmed.
