Albany isn't too well known for being bike-friendly.
Bikes lanes are rare, though they do run along parts of Gillionville Road.
Some motorists are anxious about bikers sharing the road, so what are the rules when there are no bike lanes?
Chief Don Cheek of the Dougherty County Police says bikers should stay as far to the right as possible unless they're turning left.
But both bikers and drivers need to be vigilant.
"When vehicles are overtaking bicycles, a new law that came in July said vehicles have to give bicyclists a three foot clearance," says Chief Cheek.
Chief Cheek also says the days of riding bikes against traffic are gone--law enforcement deemed it too dangerous.
