The Albany Rotary welcomed Flint RiverQuarium CEO Sanders Lewallen as their speaker Thursday afternoon during a luncheon.

Lewallen spoke to the crowd about the future of the RiverQuarium and their plans for the upcoming months.

"We've been fortunate to see some good improvement in many things we're doing but we still have that struggle to raise more private money and hopefully appeal to the public sector to help us as well," said Lewallen.

Recently, the Albany City Commission agreed to give the RiverQuarium a $150,000 stipend but only if the business partners with the Parks at Chehaw.

Lewallen says the partnership is a great opportunity that he wants to take advantage of.

He also says the RiverQuarium and Chehaw are currently discussing details for the partnership and plan to present them to the city commission once they are finalized.
