Dozens of people took to the Flint River in canoes and kayaks Sunday. The Flint Float was put on by the Flint Riverquarium.
Officials say once people get on the water, they realize the beauty of the river.
"The program is designed to get people on the river, get them paddling on the river, closer to the river, appreciating the river and this wonderful natural resource that we have right here in the heart of Albany," said Flint Riverquarium CEO Scott Loehr.
Afterward, the paddlers toured the Riverquarium and ate at a cookout.
