Rezoned students tour Southside Middle School
Fri, 03 May 2013 12:30:00 GMT —
The month-long series of meetings to address the concerns of parents and lessen the fears of Dougherty County students who are rezoned to a new school continued on Thursday evening at Southside Middle School.
Students were invited to meet the faculty and staff as well as receive a tour to give them an idea of what their new school is like.
Students who are rezoned say although they were not happy with the decision at first, they feel much better after seeing what the school has to offer.
From basketball to cheerleading, students say they know there are clubs available that will help them make new friends as well as become involved and feel more at home in a new setting.
Students that came out say although they feel better about the move after roaming the halls, they understand not everyone is going to be okay on their first day. For those nervous kids, they gave a piece of advice: be positive, keep your head up and it will be okay.
