Reward offered in Douglas shooting investigation

The family of a Douglas man is offering a reward of $3,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those involved with their son's shooting.

28-year-old Recarrdio Cortez Mitchell Jr. was shot multiple times in the 1300 block of McDonald Road in July.

Mitchell was life-flighted to Jacksonville, Florida for treatment but remains in critical condition.

Douglas police say that they were able to identify a vehicle connected to the attack that had multiple people inside, but as of publication, only person has been arrested in connection to the shooting.

Tywone Brewton has been charged with aggravated assault, but officers say the investigation is ongoing and that the arrest of other suspects is expected.
