Reward offered for answers in Moultrie murder investigation
The family of a Moultrie woman is still searching for answers two weeks after her murder, and they’re hoping a new reward could help them get those soon.
Mattie Green Harris was found dead in her Moultrie home on July 18.
The Home Mission Baptist Association of Colquitt County and a private donor are coming together to offer a $1,500 reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Her family and pastor are pleading for answers at this time, and her daughter, Joyce Green, said her mother was a woman who was much loved and wouldn’t hurt anyone.
“If y’all know anything, anything, about my mama’s murder case, please come forward,” Green said. “I’m begging y’all to come forward because I need justice for her.”
“Let somebody know that you know who it is or who it was that took Sister Harris’ life,” added Harris’ pastor, Rev. W.B. Sales.
If you know anything about this investigation, call the GBI at 229-225-4090 or the Moultrie Police Department Tip Line at 229-890-5449.
“We do know there are people out there that do know what happened and what took place that morning,” GBI Special Agent in Charge Jamy Steinberg said.
