Sat, 03 Aug 2013 21:28:13 GMT — Health inspectors are keeping a close eye out for hygiene violations - things like handling food and drinks properly and correct hand washing procedures. If these violations are allowed to go on without being corrected, customers could possibly get sick. Lowest Scores: Chester's Fried Chicken, 1604 Camilla Highway, Moultrie - Grade: 80 According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, any score below 70 is considered unsanitary. The health inspecter came across a few violations. Cooling ribs were taken off the smoker at noon and by 3:30 PM, the temperature was between 140 and 148 degrees Fahrenheit. The health inspector explained the correct cooling process to the person in charge. BBQ meat and orange juice were stored in the cooler past their expiration date. Raw chicken was also stored in the cooler without a lid. Flies were also seen in the kitchen. Subway, 2005 N Street, Ashburn - Grade: 83 Here the health inspector found that there was no certified food manager present. Subway was also cited for cold food being held at greater that 41 degrees Fahrenheit. The items were thrown away and maintenance employees repaired the walk-in cooler and prep unit. The health inspecter also found food that was not properly date marked in the walk-in cooler. Top Scores: One local restaurants obtained a perfect grade this week. Checkers, 110 S.
