A shooting in Moultrie left one in critical condition and others scared to go out in their own backyards.

The shooting happened behind the homes in the Forest Creek Apartment Complex on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive in Moultrie.

FOX 31 spoke to neighbors who said that violence makes them nervous about where they live. One resident said her children were running around outside when the shooting happened and it could've easily been her kids that got injured.

Another resident said her husband got shot in their front yard just two years ago and the crime in this area has been an ongoing issue.

Residents say they aren't going to feel safe until police start patrolling the area more often.

One resident, however, did say she felt safe there. She lives on the second floor and says no one really bothers her so she doesn't have a reason to be scared but she does understand why her neighbors are worried.
