In Monday's Dougherty County Commission meeting, Commissioner Jack Stone addressed the board about a traffic problem along Highway 19. He says there has been three wrecks on Highway 19 in less than two weeks.

Commissioner Stone says something should be done to stop the congestion in that area.

FOX 31 spoke with a resident in that area two weeks ago about the traffic issue along that highway. She had seen several accidents, one of which sent five people to the hospital.

Stone says there should be some speed bumps or a lowered speed limit in that area.

Also in the commission meeting, officials approved a request from the Albany Dougherty Inner City Authority for usage of the riverfront walkway to put a canoe launch pad in place.
