Tift county officials are taking a visual stand against kids and drugs.

To kick off Red Ribbon Week, Tift County Sheriff's officials took a trip to 8th Street Elementary School.

The theme for this year TMs Red Ribbon Week is 'A Healthy Me is Drug Free'.

Sheriff Gene Scarbrough talked to students directly about the importance of staying off drugs.

It's a dead end street when they get on drugs and they have to make that effort to do that and if they don't it's either death or destruction or prison, said Sheriff Gene Scarbrough.
