Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful, the Albany Police and MillerCoors are only a few organizations that are gearing up for a "go green" event on Saturday, September 15 from 9 AM to 1 PM. Rain or shine, they will be in the Civic Center parking lot collecting your recyclables. Bring down all of your unused electronics that are at home collecting dust.

Law enforcement officials will be present collecting your old prescriptions. They can remain in the container with the label on. All medications will be incinerated.

Last year. 46,000 pounds of electronics and 95,000 pills were collected; Keep Albany-Dougherty Beautiful is expecting a strong showing so this years' total numbers could be more.

The only thing that a person would be charged for are the older, box television sets due to the fact that they contain hazardous materials in them.

This is a great way to appropriately and properly get rid of materials that you no longer need.
