Raising funds for summer fun
On Saturday, St. Margaret of Scotland Episcopal Church in Moultrie hosted an indoor yard sale to raise money to send four kids to summer camp.
Each kid comes from homes where their parents have been incarcerated.
All the money raised from the yard sale will send those four kids to a week long camp Honey Creek Camp and Conference Center in Waverly, Ga.
Organizers say it costs about $500 per child to send them to the camp and all the items donated are from members of the church, or from people in the community.
Reverand Walter Hobgood says, "doing things like this makes him proud because it gives them a chance to give a child something they would not normally have." The summer camp starts in late July, and lasts a week.
