With massive rains coming down on Southwest Georgia last week, Worth County is working quickly to recover.
The county saw 45 road closures due to the hard rains, but officials say because of their dedication almost every road is on the way to being opened.
"Crews are working first and foremost to get the roads ready for school bus use. Most of them are ready, and that means our kids can get back to school. But nearly every road is ready to be used and that is a credit to our Public Works and Fire crews," said Worth County EMA Captain, Thomas Whittington.
Whittington says crews have been working around the clock, and although resources are slim, they're making incredible progress.
