Rain causes heavy flooding across Southwest Georgia
The steady rainfall across Southwest Georgia over the past 48 hours has caused many areas in the region to flood.
Meteorologists say there could be anywhere from 3 to 5 inches on the ground already, and residents of Worth County are starting to see and feel the impact.
Fire and Rescue crews were called to Willow Road in Worth County to assist in evacuating residents from their homes. Residents say in some parts of the yard the rain is up to their knees.
Charlie Skinner says his family has lived on Willow Road for over 40 years and flooding isn't uncommon, but this is the worst he has ever seen it.
Robert Still who also lives in Worth County has a completely flooded front and back yard. Still says the water gets up to one foot deep in parts of his back yard.
