Radium Springs Middle has a forum on violence
Radium Springs Middle School of the Arts officials are tired of losing students to gun violence. They hosted a community forum to discuss safety measures.
Workshop presentations were given by the Assistant District Attorney, Judge Herbie Solomon and several other city officials.
The Albany Police Department was on hand to give tips for safety with guns and they gave free gun safety locks to parents with firearms.
Radium Springs Middle School has been plagued with five deaths in the past three years due to violence.
Teacher Melvenia Dixon of Radium Springs Middle School says "most of those violence have been due to guns and when we can understand how we use guns, the safety of guns, I think our parents will be more proactive and how they handle their weapons. "
They hope parents spread the message.
