Quail Unlimited kicks off 2011 Celebrity Conservation Event
Quail Unlimited is kicking off their annual Celebrity Conservation Event.
Thursday they socialized at the Landowners' Appreciation Reception at Darton College, which featured food and a silent auction.
Friday morning, hunters get to an early start of quail hunting at 7:30 a.m. followed by a live auction and dinner beginning at 7:30 in the evening.
Saturday wraps up the celebration weekend with another day of hunting. Close to 1,400 participants are expected this weekend.
"This one's really special: It's the 25th, silver anniversary of the event. It also marks the year that Quail Unlimited is moving from South Carolina to Albany, Georgia, for its national headquarters," says Quail Unlimited President Bill Bowles.
Quail Unlimited moved their headquarters to Albany in October after Phoebe Foundation donated land to the conservation group.
