Publix gives back

Publix presented United Way of Southwest Georgia with a $33,000 check for community programs Friday morning.
The check was presented by Keith Gilbert, Publix District Manager along with Leesburrg store manager Garrett Tukes Store Manager and Albany Store Manager Duane Ranew.
Gilbert says Publix is about giving back to the community and they're proud to support a program that works towards building the community up.
In addition to the corporate contribution, Publix employees have pledged and additional $42,000 towards the recent campaign toward community needs in education, income, basic needs and health.
LaKisha Bryant Bruce, President & CEO of United Way of Southwest Georgia says this contribution is greatly appreciated and these funds go directly into the betterment of the community.
