Four abandoned trailers in east Albany have been demolished.
Albany city officials were under court mandate to get rid of several abandoned trailers on Clark Avenue but someone beat them to the punch.
FOX 31 asked city officials about the trailers Thursday wanting to know when they would be cleared and how much it would cost taxpayers.
City leaders followed up with the property owner who had already jumped the gun and started the demolition process.
Darrel Ealum says although he didn't own the structures, when he took over the property several months back he made it a goal to clean up the area.
He says when he got word that the asbestos check was done, that was a sign to move forward saving the city thousands of dollars.
