By now the tree has been bought, decorated and the gifts underneath have been unwrapped. As the holidays pass, it's time to toss out the tree.
Susan Bryan of Public Works says the proper way to dispose of a tree is to give it to a recyclable facility. Bryan says at Public Works they turn trees into woodchips so that people can reuse them to beautify their lawn, or drop the trees into lakes for habitat purposes.
Public Works has added two new facilities for people to drop off their tree and she expects the busiest drop of day to be the first Saturday of the New Year.
