The Albany Recreation and Parks Department hosted the Strikers' Classic Masters Bowling Invitational for Special Olympics Georgia all day Friday.
This is their third year participating in the event and had over 100 bowlers. The event is designed as a practice bowling competition to prepare athletes for the Special Olympics Georgia Master's Bowling Tournament that's held in Warner Robins in August.
One of the event organizers said her favorite part of this event, by far, is giving out the awards. Each winning bowler gets a certificate and a dog tag with a 3-D bowling picture on it.
