Preparing for an onslaught of rain

With rain on the way to Southwest Georgia, flooding is definite threat and officials say they're ready.

Dougherty County EMA Deputy Director, Jim Vaught, says "Public Works are out and about, they're checking their areas to be sure that the water is actually flowing. I'll be out and around this afternoon to drive to some of the areas that I know are more prone to receive flooding and check to see how they're doing."

Public Works is not issuing sand bags at this time, but they say they're prepared to do so if necessary.
